China’s Vice Premier Highlights Commitment to Financial Reforms in Meeting with Citigroup CEO

On Thursday, Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng held discussions with Citigroup CEO Jane Fraser in Beijing. As a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, He emphasized China’s dedication to advancing financial reforms and expanding high-level, two-way openness in its financial sector.

He extended an invitation to foreign financial institutions, including Citigroup, encouraging them to invest in China and engage in the growing financial market. He highlighted the benefits these institutions could gain from China’s ongoing financial development.

In response, Fraser shared Citigroup’s positive outlook on China’s economic and financial future. She conveyed the bank’s interest in seeking additional opportunities within China, aiming to strengthen economic and trade ties between the U.S. and China while contributing to the stability and growth of the global economy.
