Nvidia Rides AI Wave with Surging Demand, and Shares Jumping by 8%

Nvidia

Nvidia Corporation (NVDA) shares jumped by 8% on Wednesday after CEO Jensen Huang revealed that the company is experiencing unprecedented demand for its products. Speaking at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference, Huang emphasized that Nvidia’s infrastructure is currently “completely sold out” as customers worldwide seek to bolster their capabilities in artificial intelligence (AI).

Huang noted that Nvidia is currently collaborating with every AI company globally, reinforcing the company’s central role in the rapidly expanding AI market. According to a transcript from AlphaSense, he underscored the industry’s heavy reliance on Nvidia, remarking that “everyone is counting on us.”

Nvidia’s semiconductor technology is being widely utilized by major cloud service providers, including Microsoft (MSFT) and Amazon (AMZN). Both tech giants have indicated plans to increase their investment in AI infrastructure, underscoring Nvidia’s pivotal role in their AI strategies.

Huang also highlighted the strong return on investment for Nvidia’s customers, stating that every dollar spent by a cloud company on Nvidia infrastructure could yield up to $5 in rental income.

The prominence of Nvidia’s GPUs was further showcased at Oracle’s (ORCL) CloudWorld conference on Wednesday, where Oracle unveiled a new Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Supercluster. This supercluster, powered by Nvidia’s Blackwell platform with over 100,000 GPUs, is designed to train and deploy AI models and is slated for release in the first half of 2025.

During the event, Oracle and Nvidia demonstrated how Nvidia’s platform can significantly enhance AI and data processing for enterprise clients.

Nvidia’s stock ended the day 8% higher at $116.91, recovering some ground after recent declines caused by a sales forecast that fell short of market expectations.
