Union Bancaire Privée Appoints Teresa Lee as North Asia Region Head and Hong Kong CEO

Union Bancaire Privée (UBP) has announced the appointment of Teresa Lee as the region head for North Asia and the chief executive of its Hong Kong operations. Lee brings a wealth of experience from her previous roles, including her tenure at the Bank of Singapore, where she served as head of Greater China and subsequently as vice chair of Greater China. Her career also includes significant positions at Standard Chartered and ABN Amro Private Bank.

Lee’s appointment comes at a strategic time for UBP as the bank seeks to expand its footprint in North Asia. Her proven track record in leadership roles and her ability to drive growth in complex market conditions are expected to significantly contribute to UBP’s objectives.

Michael Blake, UBP’s CEO for Asia, expressed his enthusiasm about Lee’s appointment, stating that her recruitment is in line with the bank’s ambitious plans to boost business development in North Asia. Blake underscored that Lee’s extensive expertise and strategic vision are crucial as UBP continues to solidify its presence in Hong Kong, a key global wealth management hub. He emphasized that Lee’s deep understanding of various market environments and her strong client relationships make her exceptionally qualified to lead UBP’s growth in the region.

Teresa Lee herself expressed her excitement about joining UBP, highlighting the bank’s distinct position as a leading pure-play wealth management institution in Asia. She remarked that UBP’s clear and ambitious growth strategy aligns perfectly with her professional values. Lee praised the bank’s entrepreneurial spirit and its agile, client-centric approach, noting that these qualities are essential for navigating the fast-changing market dynamics of today.

The addition of Teresa Lee to UBP’s leadership team is seen as a strategic move to harness new opportunities and foster deeper client engagement in North Asia.
