M&C Saatchi Appoints Simon Fuller as New CFO Amid Industry Challenges
British advertising firm M&C Saatchi announced the appointment of Simon Fuller as its new Chief Financial Officer, effective July 1. Fuller takes over from Bruce Marson, who will return to his previous role as Deputy CFO. This follows the recent appointment of Zaid Al-Qassab as CEO in February, marking the second major management change this year.
Fuller brings extensive experience to M&C Saatchi, having previously served as CFO at Reach Plc and McColl’s Retail Group. He has also held senior financial roles at Tesco Plc, BT Group, and COLT Telecom Plc.
In April, M&C Saatchi expressed confidence in meeting its profit targets for the year, attributing this to cost-cutting measures and the divestment of unprofitable ventures despite a 10% decline in earnings for 2023.
Fuller’s appointment comes at a challenging time for the advertising industry, which is facing reduced marketing budgets from tech clients and slower new business growth due to cautious customer spending in an uncertain economic climate.
