Jensen Huang: NVIDIA’s Visionary Leader Rises Among the Wealthiest
At 61 years old, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has ascended to the 13th spot on the global rich list, propelled by his instrumental role in advancing artificial intelligence (AI) semiconductor technology. With a 3.5% stake in Nvidia, totaling approximately 86.76 million shares, Huang has seen a meteoric rise in wealth as Nvidia’s market capitalization surged past the trillion-dollar mark on the U.S. Nasdaq market.
Despite facing escalating military tensions from China, Huang’s popularity in Taiwan remains robust. Having immigrated to the United States from Taiwan at the age of 10, Huang’s recent reference to Taiwan as a ‘nation’ has garnered attention. The term ‘Jensanity’ has emerged, symbolizing the fervor surrounding him, with Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg likening him to “the Taylor Swift of the technology world.”
Huang’s assets soared to $106.1 billion as of May, marking a staggering $62.2 billion increase this year alone—outpacing the growth of any other billionaire’s fortune.
Nvidia’s stock price has been on an extraordinary upward trajectory, skyrocketing by 147% this year and setting new records consistently. From surpassing $1 trillion in market capitalization in June last year to cross $2 trillion in February this year, Nvidia’s market cap now exceeds $3 trillion, with a narrow gap of only about $130 billion separating it from Microsoft, the market cap leader.
