Ernest John Nedder Becomes RSM’s Global CEO

RSM has announced a significant leadership transition. Effective June 1, 2024, Ernest John Nedder, widely known as E.J., will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer for RSM International, succeeding Jean Stephens. As part of the transition, Jean Stephens will continue in her role as CEO until May 2024, after which she will assume a senior advisory position at RSM, focusing on member relations, development, and recruitment. Stephens, a trailblazer for women in leadership, leaves behind a remarkable legacy at RSM, expressing confidence in Nedder’s ability to lead the organization towards continued success.

In his own words, Nedder expressed his enthusiasm for his new role and his commitment to advancing RSM’s global strategy. His appointment was met with acclaim from Joe Adams, Chair of the RSM International Board, who praised Nedder’s leadership style and ability to inspire others.

Currently serving as Partner and Chief Strategy Officer at RSM US LLP, E.J. Nedder brings a wealth of experience in driving enterprise strategy, digital transformation, and fostering a culture of innovation. With a distinguished career spanning 26 years as a Certified Public Accountant, Nedder’s leadership has been instrumental in the growth and expansion of RSM’s tax practice in the United States. His strategic acumen and track record of success make him well-suited to lead RSM International into its next phase of development.

With a presence in over 120 countries and impressive year-on-year growth, RSM, a premier global provider of assurance, tax, and consulting services tailored to the middle market, is poised for further expansion and innovation. Digital transformation and service innovation remain central to its strategy as it looks ahead to a dynamic future of growth and evolution.
