Pomelo Group Welcomes Seasoned Leader Steve Vickers to Aerve as CEO

In a strategic move, Pomelo Group has appointed Steve Vickers, a distinguished figure in the industry, as its new Chief Executive Officer. Vickers, a veteran with a wealth of experience, will not only assume the helm of the company but will also secure a spot on its esteemed board of directors. This transition comes as Vincent Choi, co-founder and erstwhile CEO, gracefully steps down from his position to embark on a new journey as a member of Pomelo’s strategic advisory board.

Vickers brings to the table over two and a half decades of invaluable industry expertise, coupled with a profound understanding of cross-border B2B payments in the Southeast Asian region.

Before joining Pomelo, Vickers held distinguished roles, serving as the Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director for Asia at Paysend. Prior to that, he led Thunes as its Chief Executive Officer, driving the Singaporean fintech firm’s mission of establishing robust cross-border mobile payments networks.

Endre Sagi, the executive chairman of Pomelo, expressed confidence in Vickers, highlighting his extensive tenure in the payment industry. Sagi noted Vickers’ track record of spearheading highly successful ventures and his knack for attracting top talent, foreseeing a bright future for Pomelo under his leadership.

With dual bases in Singapore and the UK, Pomelo specializes in crafting cutting-edge B2B platform solutions tailored for financial institutions. Their offerings facilitate seamless access to the latest payment networks, empowering businesses to provide state-of-the-art payment solutions to their clientele.
