Leadership Transitions at Nutreco and Skretting: Charting New Courses
Both Nutreco and its aquaculture arm, Skretting, are poised for leadership changes as their chief executives announce their departure. Fulco van Lede, CEO of Nutreco, will bid farewell this summer after steering the company for three years. Similarly, Therese Log Bergjord, who has served as Skretting’s CEO for the past seven years, will also be departing.
Effective June 1, 2024, David Blakemore, the CEO of Trouw Nutrition and a member of Nutreco’s Management Board, will succeed van Lede as Nutreco’s CEO. Meanwhile, Bastiaan van Tilburg, presently the Managing Director for Trouw Nutrition Europe and Central Asia, will take over Bergjord’s position at Skretting.
At Trouw Nutrition, David Blakemore’s successor will be Eduardo Lopes Alberto, who joined Nutreco in January 2024 as Vice President of Global Innovation for Trouw. Nutreco emphasizes that both departures were voluntary decisions made by the individuals.
Reflecting on his tenure, van Lede expressed gratitude for his time at Nutreco and the SHV team, highlighting their accomplishments in sustainably addressing global food challenges. Van Lede also commended Therese Log Bergjord for her leadership at Skretting, acknowledging her contributions to advancing sustainable aquaculture practices.
Bergjord expressed appreciation for her time at Skretting and Nutreco, emphasizing her commitment to championing sustainable aquaculture beyond her current role. Notably, Bergjord clarified that her departure does not signify retirement, indicating her intention to remain active in the industry.
SHV CEO Jeroen Drost conveyed respect for van Lede’s decision and praised David Blakemore’s industry experience and company knowledge as fitting qualities for the new CEO.
