Fieldwork Robotics Welcomes Christopher Levine as CFO While Securing a Government Grant for the BerryAI Project

Fieldwork Robotics Ltd. has announced the receipt of an approximately $759k government grant from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) and Innovate UK. The grant, awarded for the BerryAI Project, will propel the development of Fieldwork’s technology, integrating AI-powered vision and advanced decision-making capabilities into its robotic fleet.

In tandem with this milestone, Fieldwork proudly welcomed Christopher Levine as Chief Financial Officer. Levine brings a wealth of experience, having served as Finance Director at management consultancy Global Counsel, part of WPP Group. His expertise in advising private equity (PE) backed technology start-ups on revenue generation and operational scale-up adds significant value to Fieldwork’s strategic endeavors.

Christopher Levine expressed excitement about joining Fieldwork, recognizing the company’s position at the forefront of AgriTech robotics. The BerryAI Project aligns with Fieldwork’s commitment to continuous innovation and market responsiveness, positioning the company for sustained growth and impact in the agricultural sector.

David Fulton, Fieldwork’s CEO, expressed enthusiasm for the company’s trajectory, highlighting the significance of Levine’s appointment in advancing Fieldwork’s mission. Notably, Fieldwork stands as the sole company globally with the capability to autonomously harvest raspberries. This funding injection fortifies Fieldwork’s position in the $2.2 billion fresh raspberry industry, reinforcing its commitment to innovation and market leadership.

The BerryAI Project represents a pivotal advancement for Fieldwork, aiming to enhance the AI-powered vision and decision-making capabilities of its robots. By leveraging cutting-edge technology, Fieldwork endeavors to streamline harvesting processes, reduce labor intensity, and enhance overall efficiency. The incorporation of wavelengths invisible to the human eye, in collaboration with partner Fotenix, promises to revolutionize crop detection and ripeness assessment, driving autonomy and efficacy in harvesting operations.
