Revealed: Countries and their social media usage statistics, 2024

According to data from March 2024, Facebook is the most popular social media platform among users in the US, accounting for around 47.22% of referrals. Following closely behind is Pinterest, which generates around 23.73% of the traffic. Other social networks, such as Instagram and Twitter (X), account for smaller shares of referral traffic, with Instagram providing around 11.83% and Twitter accounting for 11.07%. Similarly, in Canada, Facebook is the leading social network, generating about 49.64% of all referrals.

Facebook takes the lead as the most popular social media platform among UK users. Instagram is second, as it’s expected. Social media usage in the UK is highest among the 25 – 34 age group. The male-to-female user ratio is evenly split, with 52% female and 48% male. Let’s dive deeper!
