Roland Schwandt Succeeds Schottel GmbH CEO Andreas Block
Roland Schwandt assumes the role of deputy CEO at Schottel GmbH, effective January 1, 2024, marking a significant transition in leadership. He steps into this position, succeeding Andreas Block, who has transitioned to a role solely at the industrial holding company, Schottel Industries, while maintaining close ties to the future trajectory of Schottel GmbH.
In addition to his executive responsibilities, Schwandt actively engages with sister companies as a member of their supervisory boards and represents Schottel in key maritime associations, further cementing the company’s presence and influence in the industry landscape.
Schwandt, a distinguished graduate naval architect, commenced his journey with Schottel GmbH in 2000, immersing himself in the intricacies of the global maritime market. Rising through the ranks, he garnered extensive expertise, initially serving across various sales segments. His tenure saw him briefly managing the Tug & Offshore Energy segment before assuming the pivotal role of Vice President of Sales in 2018, overseeing global sales operations across Schottel GmbH and its 14 subsidiaries.
Collaborating closely with his predecessor, Andreas Block, and Stefan Buch, Vice President of After Sales Service, Schwandt played a pivotal role in steering the strategic expansion of subsidiaries, emphasizing enhanced customer engagement and superior advisory services. This concerted effort has solidified Schottel’s prominent position in the international market, particularly in azimuth propulsion units.
