Sarah Stanford is the New CEO of New Aspen UK

Aspen Insurance Holdings, a prominent insurer and reinsurer based in Bermuda, has officially named Sarah Stanford as the Chief Executive Officer of Aspen UK. Stanford’s appointment follows her successful tenure as Interim CEO of Aspen UK since January 17, 2024. Prior to this role, she served as the Active Underwriter of Lloyd’s Syndicate 4711, responsible for overseeing approximately 75% of Aspen’s UK business operations.

With 25 years of experience in the industry, Stanford brings a wealth of expertise to her new position. She joined Aspen in 2007 and has held various senior roles within the company throughout her tenure, including Head of International Management Liability and Professional Lines.

As Stanford transitions to her new role, Dan Osman will assume the position of Active Underwriter of Lloyd’s Syndicate 4711, pending regulatory approval. Osman, currently serving as Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) at Aspen Insurance UK (AIUK), joined Aspen in January 2018 as a Senior Underwriter. His impressive career trajectory within Aspen includes roles such as Head of Credit and Political Risk in 2021 and CUO of AIUK in 2022.

Before joining Aspen, Osman accrued 17 years of experience in the banking industry, specializing in credit research, trading, and portfolio management.

Commenting on Osman’s appointment, Sarah Stanford expressed her confidence in his ability to excel in his new role and drive Aspen’s commercial strategy forward. She highlighted Osman’s promotion as a testament to the talent within the organization and emphasized the importance of seamless integration into Aspen’s broader business objectives.

As Aspen UK navigates its future trajectory, Stanford and Osman stand poised to lead the company’s continued growth and success in the London and Lloyd’s markets.
