Matteo Tarditi is the New President and CFO of United Natural Foods Inc.

United Natural Foods Inc. (UNFI) announces the appointment of Giorgio “Matteo” Tarditi as its President and Chief Financial Officer, effective April 15. Tarditi succeeds John W. Howard, the current CFO, who will depart the company following a transitional period. In his new capacity, Tarditi will assume oversight of corporate finance, strategy, financial planning and analysis, investor relations, risk management, and more.

Tarditi brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having commenced his career at GE in 1997 and steadily ascending the ranks until his most recent position as Group Financial Planning & Analysis Leader in GE Corporate.

A respected figure in the realm of global leadership, turnarounds, mergers and acquisitions, and talent motivation, Tarditi holds a Master’s degree in Finance and Business Administration from Universita Bocconi in Milan, Italy. His appointment marks a significant step forward for UNFI as it continues its mission to innovate and excel in the dynamic landscape of natural foods distribution.

Tarditi expressed enthusiasm for joining UNFI’s esteemed team, emphasizing his eagerness to contribute to the company’s mission of nourishing families across North America. He affirmed his commitment to supporting UNFI’s customer- and supplier-centric strategy and transformation plan, aiming to drive profitable growth and value creation for shareholders.

Sandy Douglas, CEO and President of UNFI, expressed confidence in Tarditi’s appointment, citing his distinguished career spanning over 26 years at GE, where he served as CFO for various business units, including Renewable Energy and Energy Connections, among others. Douglas praised Tarditi’s financial acumen and leadership prowess, highlighting his instrumental role in driving operational excellence, efficiency, and productivity in complex business transformations and M&A integrations.
