CEO Departure at SCOR
SCOR, a prominent player among Europe’s significant reinsurers, has officially announced the departure of Stuart McMurdo, who served as Chief Executive Officer of its reinsurance division.
In light of McMurdo’s departure, Jean-Paul Conoscente, CEO of SCOR Global P&C, expressed gratitude for McMurdo’s contributions, stating that Stuart’s commitment to SCOR and his notable accomplishments during his time with the company is sincerely appreciated. His significant impact in both the Specialty Insurance and Reinsurance spheres has been instrumental in driving positive outcomes for SCOR.
McMurdo initially joined SCOR back in 2018, stepping into the role of CEO for SCOR UK and the SCOR Syndicate. His tenure saw him ascend to the position of Regional CEO for EMEA before ultimately being tapped to succeed Michel Blanc as the head of the reinsurance segment in 2022.
Prior to his time at SCOR, McMurdo held pivotal roles, including Head of Reinsurance at Santam Limited, South Africa’s premier short-term insurer. Before that, he served as General Manager at a leading retail brokerage in South Africa and spent over a decade at Hannover Re, assuming various management positions across South Africa and Germany.
