Charlotte Hanneman Named CFO of Royal Philips, Driving Financial Strategy for Health Technology Innovation

Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA) has announced the proposal to appoint Charlotte Hanneman as a member of the Board of Management, assuming the pivotal role of Chief Financial Officer effective October 1, 2024. The proposal, slated for submission to the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGM) on May 7, 2024, heralds a strategic addition to Philips’ executive leadership team.

Ms. Hanneman’s journey with Philips commences on June 1, 2024, as she joins the company’s Executive Committee to commence her induction and transition into the CFO role, succeeding the incumbent CFO Abhijit Bhattacharya on October 1, 2024. Bhattacharya, who has been an integral part of Philips’ leadership since 2015, will retire after an illustrious 37-year career with the company on September 30, 2024.

Bringing over two decades of invaluable experience in the MedTech and pharmaceutical sectors, Charlotte Hanneman joins Philips from global medical technology firm Stryker, where she held the position of Controller and Head of Financial Planning & Analysis. Her expertise encompasses financial control, enterprise financial planning and analysis, business development finance, and international finance leadership roles across diverse geographies.

Ms. Hanneman’s impressive professional journey includes stints at renowned multinational healthcare companies such as Merck, Schering-Plough, and Organon, further enriching her global perspective and industry insights. Her academic credentials include a master’s degree in economics and an executive master of finance and control from Maastricht University, the Netherlands.

Roy Jakobs, CEO of Royal Philips, expressed gratitude to Abhijit Bhattacharya for his significant contributions to Philips’ transformation into a health technology powerhouse.
