According to recent projections, India’s Muslim population is expected to increase by 35.62 million people between 2020 and 2030. By 2050, India is expected to surpass Indonesia and have the largest population of Muslims in the world. Nigeria currently has the fifth highest Muslim population in the world, with over 100 million Muslims. The Muslim community’s size in Nigeria is projected to increase by nearly 35 million people between 2020 and 2030.

In Pakistan, 96.5% of the population identifies as Muslim, while Hindus and Christians make up 1.9% and 1.6% of the population, respectively. These proportions are expected to remain stable by 2030, despite an expected increase of nearly 30 million in the country’s Muslim population from 2020. India currently has the third-largest Muslim population globally, after Indonesia and Pakistan. Interestingly, India is not a member of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). However, it is projected to have the largest Muslim population by 2050.

Indonesia is currently the world’s most populous Muslim-majority country, with over 229 million Muslims accounting for 87.2% of the nation’s population. By 2030, it is expected to be among the countries with the highest increase in Muslim population. Bangladesh stands at fourth position in the list of most populous Muslim countries in the world. It has a significant percentage of Hindus, constituting 8.1% of the total population. Despite government measures to control birth rates, the Muslim population is projected to show a substantial increase between 2020 and 2030. This report highlights the countries where the Muslim population is expected to increase the most by 2030.
