EuropaCorp Announces Leadership Transition
In an announcement by the board of directors on Wednesday, EuropaCorp named Jean-Marc Lacarrère as its new CEO, effective March 1. This move follows the resignation of Axel Duroux, who served as CEO for nearly four years until December, amid ongoing restructuring efforts within the Paris-based studio.
Luc Besson, the founder and filmmaker behind EuropaCorp, temporarily assumed the role of CEO following Duroux’s departure. However, Besson will now continue his involvement with the company as chairman of the board of directors.
Lacarrère brings a wealth of experience to his new position, with a background that includes various roles at Canal+ and most recently serving as the Director of new production projects at Vivendi Content before founding Harvest Moon Films in 2020.
Additionally, Jacques-Henri Eyraud, a seasoned executive in the sports, media, and entertainment industries, has been appointed as Director, succeeding Duroux.
Despite these transitions, EuropaCorp remains committed to its ongoing projects, with several features and series currently in different stages of development and production.
