Tradeshift Appoints Iain Balchin as CFO, Enhancing FinTech Expertise

Tradeshift, a leading B2B eCommerce and FinTech platform has announced the appointment of Iain Balchin as its newest chief financial officer. Balchin’s extensive experience in elevating FinTech firms positions him well for this role, according to a press release issued by Tradeshift on February 13.

In a statement, Balchin expressed his enthusiasm for joining Tradeshift, highlighting the substantial opportunities for growth and expansion within the Tradeshift network. Tradeshift CEO James Stirk praised Balchin’s expertise in scaling disruptive businesses, emphasizing his crucial role in driving sustainable growth, scale, and profitability.

During his tenure as interim CFO at Ramp Network, a crypto payment platform, Balchin successfully led a $70 million Series B fundraising. His notable track record also includes CFO positions at payments optimization platform Ixaris (acquired), neobank WiZink, and WorldRemit, where he spearheaded a restructuring of the finance division.

Most recently, Balchin served at energy storage company Corre Energy, where he orchestrated a successful equity raise to advance major renewables projects. His career spans senior finance roles with renowned institutions such as St James Place Wealth Management, Lloyds Banking Group, BNP Paribas, AIG, Standard Chartered, and Credit Suisse.
