Mamas & Papas Appoints Sarah Ashby to Serve as CFO
Mamas & Papas has successfully recruited Sarah Ashby, a seasoned finance executive from Asda, to assume the role of Chief Financial Officer. Commencing her tenure on January 19, Ashby previously held the position of Senior Finance Director of Projects and M&A at the prominent supermarket chain.
Her journey at Asda commenced in 2020 as a Senior Finance Executive for George, subsequently earning a promotion to Senior Finance Director for Clothing and General Merchandise in 2022. With a diverse professional background, Ashby has contributed her financial expertise to renowned companies such as Procter & Gamble, The Kraft Heinz Company, and Pladis, the owner of McVitie’s.
The strategic appointment aligns with Mamas & Papas’ optimistic outlook as it anticipates a record-breaking year, buoyed by a successful Christmas season. The nursery retailer is charting an expansion course by planning to open up to ten additional concessions within Marks & Spencer and Next stores this year. Furthermore, Mamas & Papas has ambitious international expansion plans, with ventures into Indonesia, Thailand, and Spain. The business is poised to unveil its inaugural stores in Thailand and Indonesia in March, building on the momentum generated by last year’s successful launch in Australia. This strategic move underscores Mamas & Papas’ commitment to robust growth and its position as a key player in the global retail landscape.
