Gabriel Papineau-Legris Succeeds Retiring CFO of Gulf Keystone Ian Weatherdon
Gulf Keystone has announced Gabriel Papineau-Legris as its new Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director, succeeding Ian Weatherdon, who retires. Currently serving as Chief Commercial Officer at Gulf Keystone, Gabriel brings to the role a wealth of experience acquired since joining the company in 2016, coupled with robust credentials in private equity and investment banking.
Ian Weatherdon, concluding a distinguished 35-year international career, has decided not to seek re-election at the upcoming Annual General Meeting in June. Having taken on the CFO role in January 2020, Weatherdon played a pivotal role in enhancing GKP’s balance sheet and delivering industry-leading returns to shareholders during a phase of profitable growth. His adept management of the company’s liquidity during challenging periods has been commendable.
Expressing gratitude for Weatherdon’s significant contributions, Company Chairman Martin Angle acknowledged his role in fortifying GKP’s financial standing and achieving remarkable returns for shareholders. The board wishes Weatherdon a well-deserved retirement and extends a warm welcome to Gabriel as the new CFO and board member. The transition marks a strategic move for Gulf Keystone, signaling continuity and fresh perspectives under Gabriel’s leadership.
