The Jindal Legacy Navigating Steel, Power, and Family Leadership

As we delve into the dynamics of the Jindal legacy, we witness a family-led conglomerate navigating the intricate intersections of steel, power, and more. The Jindal Group, a conglomerate with diverse interests spanning steel, power, cement, and infrastructure, bears the imprints of its founder, Om Prakash Jindal, and is currently steered by his widow, Savitri Jindal.

Following O.P. Jindal’s tragic demise in a helicopter crash in 2005, the reins of the group’s companies passed on to his four sons, each now independently managing their respective segments.

The torchbearer of the group’s most significant assets is Savitri Jindal’s son, Sajjan Jindal, based in Mumbai. Renowned for his leadership at JSW Steel, Sajjan Jindal oversees a substantial portfolio within the conglomerate. In a strategic move in September 2023, he unveiled JSW Infrastructure to the public, further expanding the group’s reach.

Meanwhile, in Delhi, Naveen Jindal, the younger son, assumes the responsibility of managing Jindal Steel & Power, contributing to the diversified footprint of the Jindal Group.

Savitri Jindal, at the age of 83, stands as a matriarchal figure, wielding significant influence within the family and the conglomerate. Her resilience and leadership have played a pivotal role in steering the Jindal Group through the complexities of its diversified ventures.
