Intuitive Machines CFO Erik Sallee Departs

Intuitive Machines, Inc. has announced the departure of Erik Sallee as Chief Financial Officer, effective January 26, 2024, citing personal and family reasons and a pursuit of new business opportunities. To facilitate this transition, Steven Vontur will assume the role of Interim Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Vontur currently serves as the Principal Accounting Officer at Intuitive Machines.

Joining the company in July 2022 as Corporate Controller, Mr. Vontur has been instrumental in the company’s public listing and the expansion of the accounting and finance team, collaborating closely with Mr. Sallee. He brings a broad spectrum of financial and accounting expertise to his current role, overseeing accounting, reporting, financial controls, SEC reporting, treasury operations, and tax matters.

Before his tenure as the Company’s Controller, Mr. Vontur held positions as Senior Director of Corporate Accounting at Shimmick, Inc. from 2021 to 2022 and as a project Consultant at Resources Connection, Inc. from 2020 to 2021. His previous experience includes various roles at KBR, Inc., spanning from 2004 until his departure, culminating in the position of Director of Finance – SEC Reporting, Consolidations, and Financial Controls. Earlier in his career, he served as an Audit Senior Manager at Ernst & Young LLP.

Mr. Vontur earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Texas A&M University and is a Certified Public Accountant. The Company has initiated a search for a new permanent Chief Financial Officer.
