Travis Sheetz Succeds his Brother as CEO of Sheetz

Sheetz declared Travis Sheetz’s elevation to the position of President and CEO. Travis Sheetz, the nephew of company founder Bob Sheetz, is slated to assume this new role in January. Previously, he served as the inaugural COO in the company’s 69-year history, alongside his role as president and chief operating officer.

Upon his transition, Travis Sheetz will succeed his brother, Joe Sheetz, the current CEO, who will transition to the role of Executive Vice Chairman. In this new capacity, Joe Sheetz will maintain involvement with CLI Transport, the company’s dedicated petroleum carrier for its stores, in addition to providing support to the board of directors, finance, and legal departments, as stated in a company press release.

Joe Sheetz expressed confidence in Travis’ leadership, acknowledging Sheetz’s growth from a humble Pennsylvania dairy store to a swiftly expanding family-owned convenience retail chain encompassing over 600 locations across six states. He emphasized Travis Sheetz’s capacity to continue driving growth and innovation, fulfilling customer needs, and elevating convenience standards.

Expressing humility, Travis Sheetz expressed eagerness to uphold his uncle’s vision for the company and perpetuate the family values embedded in Sheetz since its inception in 1952. He also conveyed enthusiasm for extending the company’s success and innovative practices established during his brother’s tenure as CEO.

Travis Sheetz embarked on his journey within the family business as a real estate site selector and subsequently served as a director in the marketing department. Progressing within the company, he held pivotal roles, such as Vice President of Operations and Executive Vice President of Operations, before assuming the presidency and COO position in 2018. His educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in finance from Penn State and a master’s degree from Vanderbilt University.

Presently, Sheetz serves a vast customer base of over 1.5 million individuals daily across 639 store locations spread across Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, and Maryland.
