Firebirds Wood Fired Grill Taps Former Mars Executive to Replace Christopher Olson in the role of CFO

Firebirds Wood Fired Grill announced the appointment of Caren Prince as the new Chief Financial Officer. Prince, previously in executive positions at Krispy Kreme and Mars Inc., steps into the role following the retirement of former Firebirds CFO Christopher Olson.

During her tenure at Mars Inc., Prince held diverse leadership roles in the United Kingdom before relocating to the United States. Her responsibilities included serving as the CFO for the retail group, overseeing flagship M&Ms World stores, My M&MS e-commerce, and business-to-business operations. Prince’s most recent position was as CFO of Krispy Kreme, based in Charlotte.

Established in 2000, Firebirds operates 58 restaurants across 20 states. Firebirds Wood Fired Grill was acquired by New York-based investment firm Garnett Station Partners LLC in March.

CEO and President of Firebirds, Steve Kislow, expressed enthusiasm for Prince’s arrival, citing her wealth of experience in financial strategy for renowned consumer brands, both domestically and internationally. Kislow acknowledged Olson’s significant contributions over the years and his effective leadership during this transition, extending well-wishes for his retirement.

Prince expressed her excitement about joining Firebirds during a critical phase of expansion. She emphasized a collaborative effort with the leadership team to further enhance the already remarkable foundations and extend the unique Firebirds experience while prioritizing the exceptional people integral to the brand’s success.
