PepsiCo Appoints James Caulfield as EVP and CFO following Hugh Johnston’s Departure
On November 6, PepsiCo, Inc. (NASDAQ: PEP) announced that Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer Hugh Johnston will be leaving the company on November 30. James (Jamie) Caulfield is appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at PepsiCo.
Johnston is retiring from PepsiCo after 34 years of dedicated service. He joined the company in 1987 and became Chief Financial Officer in 2010. Following his departure from PepsiCo on November 30, Johnston will join The Walt Disney Company as Chief Financial Officer. Hugh Johnston expressed his gratitude for his 34-year tenure at PepsiCo, noting the strong partnerships and friendships he has built over the years.
As a result of this transition, Jamie Caulfield will succeed Johnston as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for PepsiCo. Currently, Caulfield serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for PepsiCo Foods North America, with a career spanning over 30 years within PepsiCo.
Throughout his time at PepsiCo, Caulfield has held key positions, including Senior Vice President of Investor Relations from 2011 to 2019, and he has served in various roles in Finance across Frito-Lay, FP&A, Investor Relations, Mergers and Acquisitions, Corporate Strategy and Development, and North America Beverages, where he was CFO for Canada. In 2019, Caulfield assumed his current role as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for PepsiCo Foods North America, playing a vital role in the growth and transformation of the business.
Ramon Laguarta, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, expressed his confidence in Jamie Caulfield’s appointment, highlighting his extensive experience within PepsiCo and his dedication to the company. Laguarta also acknowledged Hugh Johnston’s significant contributions to the company, emphasizing his leadership qualities and the positive transformation of PepsiCo under his financial leadership.
