Richard Newman to Become CFO of Nichols
Nichols plc has announced that Richard Newman will join the Board as a Director effective from January 29, 2024, and will take on the role of Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary in March 2024, following the release of the Group’s Preliminary Results for the year ending December 31, 2023.
In conjunction with this transition, David Taylor, currently serving as Interim CFO and Company Secretary, will step down from the Board in March after ensuring a seamless transfer of responsibilities. Richard Newman brings a wealth of experience in the financial management of UK public companies, having held several senior positions, including his most recent role as CFO at AIM-listed Accrol Group Holdings Plc between 2021 and 2023.
Richard’s career trajectory includes his tenure at Cadbury plc, where he began in 1996 and advanced to the role of Finance and IT Director for Ireland, and subsequently served as Group Financial Controller. After spending 15 years with Cadbury, he assumed the position of Divisional Finance Director at National Express Group plc before joining DS Smith plc in 2015 as UK Finance Director for Packaging. Richard Newman is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and he obtained his qualification from PwC in 1993.
