Castelli International School: Things To Know About This Top School in Rome

International schools in Italy are numerous. Many of these schools are located in Rome, the capital city. These schools are sprawling and equipped with the latest facilities. In fact, you’ll find many of these schools located in remote locations in Rome, providing a lively balance between city exposure and nature. One such school we know of is Castelli International School.

Castelli International School is a prestigious private school located a little south of Rome along the Castelli Romani hills. It is considered among the best schools for elementary education in Italy. Let’s see what you should know about this school. Here are a few pointers about the school in case you’re interested.

An Overview

It is best we start with a little bit of history. Castelli International School was founded in the year 1977 and offers a favorable combination of the Italian education program and an international educational framework. It applies the Italian ministerial curriculum with the well-established Anglo-Saxon curriculum. These programs also involve the application of Cambridge Lower Secondary and Upper Secondary Program.

The school is very particular about its carbon footprint and has implemented a series of eco-friendly installations over time. The importance of sustainability is also taught in classrooms. The responsibility of the same is upon a qualified faculty whose members have degrees recognized under Post Graduate Degrees and Certifications (PGCE).

Phases of Education

It must be noted that Castelli International Schools only covers kindergarten, elementary, and lower secondary schools. Nevertheless, a few details about these two should help.

      • Kindergarten: The youngest lot goes to pursue and complete their pre-school education. The plan is to teach them the basics, which will enable easy integration in elementary school. The age of enrollment is five years.
      • Elementary School/Primary School: Children between the age group of 6 and 11 attend primary school. The subject list expands and includes physical education, gardening, science, math, social sciences, music, and computers. Collaborative project works are assigned regularly.
      • Lower Secondary School: This phase of education covers children from 11 years of age to 14 years of age. Since this is the last phase at Castelli International School, the focus is increased on assisting students in securing seats in good high schools. Cambridge International School programs are implemented.

On-campus facilities and off-campus exposure

Let’s talk about the facilities present within the premises. The campus houses a multi-purpose court consisting of grounds for basketball, hockey, tennis, and cricket. There are two synthetic turf pitches for playing volleyball and football.

Students are also encouraged to participate in off-campus activities. Educational trips are integral to the curriculum and happen twice a year for every class. A ski week in February is a recreational opportunity for students and their families. Also students also attend Model United Nations Conferences.

Admissions

A few things to note about admissions at Castelli International School:

      • Admissions are on a rolling basis. This means applications are accepted throughout the year.
      • Considering the limited number of seats, it is best advised that you apply by January prior to the academic year of entrance.
      • Applicants are assessed on their ability to adapt to the school, critical analysis, and practical evaluation.
      • A set of documents will have to be submitted, including the admission form, a reference letter from a teacher at a previous school, copies of the last two report cards, and proof of payment of the registration fee.
