Greg Sigrist Succeeds Current EVP and CFO of Pathward Glen Herrick, who Retires
Pathward Financial has officially announced the appointment of Greg Sigrist as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective from November 1, 2023. Following the filing of the Company’s Form 10-K for the fiscal year 2023, Mr. Sigrist will transition to the role of EVP and CFO, succeeding Glen Herrick. Mr. Herrick will continue to work with the Company to facilitate the transition and contribute to other projects until his retirement on December 31, 2023.
Greg Sigrist brings a wealth of experience to the Pathward team, with over 20 years of experience in the banking sector. His impressive background includes multiple CFO roles in public companies, demonstrating strong leadership skills and substantial financial and business expertise. Greg’s proficiency in strategy development, execution, and long-term shareholder value creation will be instrumental in supporting Pathward’s three strategic initiatives: optimizing the interest-earning portfolio, refining the deposit mix, and enhancing operating leverage,” said Brett Pharr, CEO of Pathward Financial, Inc.
Pharr continued, expressing gratitude for Glen Herrick’s contributions over the past decade, during which the Company’s net income grew from $13 million in fiscal 2013 to $156 million in fiscal year 2022. He acknowledged Herrick’s role in transforming the Company from a community bank into a diversified, entrepreneurially driven institution through acquisitions, the divestiture of the community bank, and a rebranding effort. Pharr also noted Herrick’s postponement of retirement to facilitate the search for a new CFO and his commitment to staying with the Company until the end of 2023 to ensure a smooth transition.
Greg Sigrist joins Pathward Financial after serving as EVP and CFO of Metropolitan Bank Holding Corp. and Metropolitan Commercial Bank for the past three years. Prior to this, he held the position of EVP and CFO at Columbia Banking System, Inc., from June 2018 to February 2020. Sigrist’s previous experience includes 12 years with Morgan Stanley, where he held several senior financial roles, including CFO of Morgan Stanley Bank, N.A., from 2014 to early 2018. Before that, he spent five years as Vice President, Corporate Accounting Policy/M&A Finance at Citigroup. Sigrist’s career foundation was built during 12 years at Ernst & Young and McGladrey & Pullen in senior auditing roles for financial services clients, including regional and community banks. He holds a B.S. in Accounting with University Honors from Illinois State University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
