Katherine Emberly Assumes the role of President and CEO of Stars
STARS Air Ambulance welcomed its new President and CEO on Monday. Katherine Emberly was previously announced as the successor to the former President and CEO, Andrea Robertson, earlier this spring.
In a statement released on Monday, Emberly expressed her enthusiasm, saying, “I’m very excited and humbled to have a role at an organization where the work really matters and the stakes are extremely high.”
Katherine Emberly is the third individual to hold the position of President and CEO at STARS, succeeding Andrea Robertson, who retired last fall after serving in the role for 12 years. Prior to Robertson, the position was held by Dr. Greg Powell, who is also one of the co-founders of STARS. Before joining STARS, Katherine Emberly had a distinguished career at Shaw Communications, where she spent two decades.
Emberly’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science, Harvard Business School Executive Education, and completion of the Institute of Corporate Directors Program. She is also actively involved in the community, having served on the boards of Alberta Blue Cross, Calgary Economic Development, Viamo, Axis Connects, and Ronald McDonald House Southern Alberta.
