CEO and Co-founder of Biofourmis Steps Down

Biofourmis

AI-driven remote monitoring and digital healthcare firm Biofourmis has officially confirmed the departure of its CEO and co-founder, Kuldeep Singh Rajput, mere weeks after a substantial reduction in workforce, which affected 120 employees globally, 48 of whom were based in the United States.

In response to this development, Biofourmis stated that Rajput is committed to continuing his involvement with the company in an advisory capacity. The company expressed gratitude for his contributions and expressed well-wishes for his future endeavors. Moreover, Biofourmis has initiated the search for a new CEO.

As part of its restructuring, the Boston-based organization appointed Ben Wanamaker to its board of directors. Wanamaker is tasked with overseeing the newly established “Office of the CEO.” This Office includes key figures such as Maulik Majmudar, a co-founder and the chief medical officer; Renika Seghal, the chief financial officer; Milan Shah, the chief technology officer; Daniel Song, serving as general counsel; and Jaydev Thakkar, who holds the position of chief operating officer. The responsibilities of this Office encompass directing regular business operations, with Ben Wanamaker providing oversight.

Wanamaker brings extensive experience to his role, having most recently served as vice president of enterprise strategy at Humana. His career includes previous roles as vice president and general manager of analytics products at Aetna, as well as director of strategy and operations of health services at Walmart.

The company expressed its steadfast commitment to its mission of revolutionizing healthcare delivery through technology and data. Biofourmis offers tools for home care aimed at remote monitoring of acute and post-acute patients, along with a virtual specialty care platform named Biofourmis Care, tailored for managing individuals with chronic conditions.

This shift follows a strategic decision to let go of operational and administrative staff last month, with the objective of focusing on accelerating growth in the U.S. market.

Biofourmis recently unveiled a four-year collaboration with Augusta University Health, a health system based in Georgia, along with a multi-year agreement with Orlando Health, based in Florida.
