Helmut Zodl is the new CFO of Clarios

Clarios, a pioneer in low-voltage architecture and vehicle batteries, announced the appointment of Helmut Zodl to the company’s leadership team as the Chief Financial Officer, effective from September 1, 2023.

Helmut’s appointment follows that of John DiBert, who departed from the role of Chief Financial Officer at Clarios in April 2023 to take up the position of CFO at Air Canada in his hometown of Montreal, Canada. This selection reinforces Clarios’ financial stewardship and strategic course for future expansion and accomplishment.

Clarios stands as the global leader in advanced, low-voltage architecture and batteries, powering one out of every three vehicles worldwide. With a workforce of 16,000 spanning over 100 countries, the company is committed to both sustainability and operational excellence, with a current ability to recover, recycle, and reuse up to 99% of its battery materials. It operates as a subsidiary of Brookfield Business Partners and is dedicated to collaborating with Aftermarket and OEM clients to provide the systems and services necessary to facilitate the energy transition in the automotive sector.

Prior to his tenure at Clarios, Helmut Zodl served as the CFO of GE Healthcare. During this role, he effectively led the separation of the company from its parent entity, ultimately listing GE Healthcare on NASDAQ. Before his involvement with GE Healthcare, he operated in China as the Group CFO for Midea, a global leader in air conditioning, white goods, and industrial automation. Helmut also contributes as a member of the supervisory board of KUKA AG, where he holds the position of Chairman of the Audit Committee.

His professional journey encompasses roles in Finance, IT, and Strategy at renowned companies like Advance AutoParts, Lenovo, IBM, and PWC. Helmut, originally from Austria, has garnered international experience through assignments in various locations such as France, Hong Kong, China, Brazil, and the United States.
