A Guide To The International School of Naples In Italy

Naples in Italy

With the rise of international schools in Italy, expats and locals alike are finding themselves with a lot of options to choose from. Of course, plenty of international schools can be found in the country. But, at CEOWorld, we suggest the best there are. And today, in this article, we are going to make a suggestion.

International School of Naples (ISN) is located in the regional capital of Campania in Italy. Since its foundation, it has gradually and progressively moved up in the ranks and now enjoys a solid reputation among the local population.

In this article, you can find a few highlights about the school:

About ISN

ISN is a non-profit, independent school that was established in 1964. It admits students from the ages of 3 to 18 and prides itself on the quality of faculty members and infrastructure. Aside from this, the school is notable for several other things.

To name a few, the school is among the few schools in the country to offer a dual language program in Elementary and Middle School. With time, the school has received accreditation from prominent agencies. Two of them are the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).

Academic Structure

ISN manages a comprehensive, internationally-relevant curriculum:

    • Early Childhood: This phase covers preschool and kindergarten. The age group is between 3-5 years. The Montessori methodology is followed to inculcate basic skills and knowledge.
    • Elementary School: From Grades 1 to 5, students attend the elementary school at ISN. The core subjects are language, arts, foreign language, fine arts, physical education, social studies, sciences, and math.
    • Middle & High School: Clubbing these two phases into one, grades covered are from 6 to 12. Advanced-level instructions in subjects are imparted. Additional offerings include sports, arts, music, and technology. Digital literacy programs have become regular.

Extra-curriculars

Students are encouraged to participate in extra-curricular activities. This looks good on report cards and indicates a healthy growth chart of the student.

At ISN, students can engage in music, dance, physical education, language learning, workshops, field trips, student councils, and whatnot. Necessary instructional and infrastructural arrangements exist within the premises of the campus for smooth access.

Admissions Process

Being an international school, parents should expect a few considerations specific to the admissions process:

  • The school accepts applications throughout the year, depending on availability.
  • No bar on applicants based on sex, race, religion, sexual orientation, nationality, or disability.
  • Discounts are given to the siblings of a current student in the school.
  • ISN extends special tuition fee rates to the members of the NATO JFC Military Personnel.
  • Documentation requirements are mandatory. Documents that need to be furnished include previous school report cards, recommendation letters, passport copies, and birth certificate copies.
  • The school reserves the right to admit students based on its evaluation.
