Largest Golf Courses In and Around Munich

Munich, the capital of Bavaria, is nothing less than a dream destination for travelers. The city has everything from picturesque buildings, cafes, shopping arenas, and excellent cuisine, making it a wanderlust favorite.

The locale also has abundant golf links in and around its perimeter, which is perfect for trying your hand at the sport. Here are some of the largest golf courses that serve as an ideal spot for all players.

  1. Golfclub München RiemLocated at a short distance from the Riem S-Bahn station, the golf course is favored by all sports enthusiasts. The club is in the middle of the Munich racecourse, and here players can train under the guidance of an instructor or alone. While the public short course is apt for beginners, the handicap courses make the overall gaming experience unforgettable. For seasoned players, the challenging 9-hole championship course is the best for practice and training.
  2. Green Hill: The Golf and Event Park Munich EastThis 9-hole short course is situated on the city’s outskirts, and its central location allows players to enjoy a quick round of golf. The spot is surrounded by panoramic views of the Alps and Munich skyline, further elevating its beauty. In addition to this, the golf driving range is equipped with modern machines. It offers the possibility to tee off from lawn or high-quality mats. Furthermore, an automatic Tee-up system in the training areas is also available here.
  3. Golfpark München Aschheim GmbH & Co. KG

Golfpark Aschheim is towards the east of Munich and is a 20 mins drive from the city. One of the major USPs of the golf course is it offers undulating fairways, course lengths between 4900 to 6020, and natural biotopes. The 18-hole course has a fantastic mix of lush flora and fauna and provides stunning views of the Alps. There is also a 90-minute introductory course for newbies wherein they can learn about the game, rules, and equipment and participate in handicap courses. Due to all these features, the German Gold Association awarded Golfpark Aschheim the “Golf &Natur Gold” certificate in 2015 and 2019.

  4. Golf City Munich PuchheimThis attractive golf course is in Puchheim, towards the west of Munich. Located just 500 m away from the city limits, the spot is also helmed as the second Golf City course in Germany. There are two 3-hole short courses with water hazards, and a driving range of up to 80 m, along with the 9-hole course here, making it one of Munich’s largest training facilities. In addition, flexibility and without entry hurdles make Gold City different from other conventional golf courses.
  5. Münchener Golf Club e.V. – Golfanlage Thalkirchen

Established in 1910, the Munich Golf Club perfectly represents tradition, passion, and sporting success. What makes the club different from the rest is it offers members flexible games without tee time reservations. The 9-hole course present in Thalkirchen is located close to the Hellabrun Zoo, on the western bank of Isar. This spot is ideal for golfers who want to indulge in a relaxed round of games in a short time. Also, the 27-hole course in Straßlach has three 9-hole loops, which makes it apt for players of all levels.

  6. GolfRange München-Germering

Located in western Munich, there are two 9-hole golf courses here that are suitable for both beginners and advanced golfers. Designed by renowned architect Michael Pinner, the place also has one of the largest driving areas in the city where players can improve their swing and tee off. In addition, the pitching, chipping, and putting greens serve as a perfect training ground for newbies.
