Here Are The Top 10 U.S. Cities With the Highest Salaries, 2020

San Jose, California

Employees in the San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara area, continue to have the highest salaries in the country – and that’s after adjusting for cost-of-living differences. Hartford-East Hartford-Middletown, CT was ranked 2nd for salaries among large metros, according to the Smartest Dollar study, with median adjusted earnings of $60,357 for full-time workers.

Washington-Arlington-Alexandria, DC-VA-MD-WV region was ranked third for the highest adjusted salaries out of all U.S. states, with median adjusted earnings of $59,993 for full-time workers. The Boston-Cambridge-Newton region came in 4th place, with adjusted median earnings of $59,046.
