Ranked: These Are The Best And Worst US States To Be A Working Mothers, 2020

Massachusetts took the top spot on the list as the best state for working mothers for 2020, according to a new WalletHub study. Minnesota ranked second on the list, followed by Vermont, Connecticut, and District of Columbia. The title of the worst state for working mothers was given to Louisiana, which landed in 51st place. Where does yours rank?
On the other end of the spectrum, the five worst states are Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, South Carolina, and West Virginia respectively. So if you’re looking for the best place to live as a working mom, go northeast, young mother!
To determine the rankings, researchers analyzed the attractiveness of each of the 50 US states (and the District of Columbia) across three key areas – child care, professional opportunities, and work-life balance. To evaluate those dimensions, it used 17 metrics that fell into one of the three categories. So, what were the results?
