These Are The Top 40 Richest People In Texas For 2019
Texas’s richest keep getting richer. Forbes released its 2019 edition of the Forbes 400 list, which ranks the wealthiest billionaires in America. Texas is home to 40 billionaires. Nationally, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos topped the list.
New York has the Hearsts. Nebraska has the Buffetts. Missouri has the Buschs.
Lesser-known nationally but well-known in Texas is the Duncan family of Houston – one of the wealthiest family in Texas. The Duncan family comprises the four children of the late pipeline mogul Dan Duncan. Each of them has an estimated net worth of $6.3 billion, CEOWORLD magazine says.
The children — Dannine Avara ($6.3 billion), Scott Duncan ($6.3 billion), Milane Frantz ($6.3 billion), and Randa Duncan Williams ($6.3 billion). 36-year-old Scott Duncan is the youngest billionaire in Texas.
Randa Duncan Williams is perhaps the most visible of the four Duncan heirs. Magazine recently listed Williams as the 11th wealthiest person in Texas. While the Duncans are worth $25.2 billion, their wealth doesn’t come close to that of Alice Walton of Fort Worth, the wealthiest person in Texas. The magazine estimates her net worth at $51.4 billion.
