A new study found that graduates with STEM degrees typically earn a lot more and are less likely to be unemployed, that’s according to Bankrate. For example, electrical engineering majors earn a median salary of $99,000, while fine arts majors make $37,000.
Mathematics fan? Mathematics majors typically earn $65,000.
Majors Matter
The most valuable college majors include naval architecture marine; nuclear engineering; Pharmacy Pharmaceutical Sciences And Administration; Genetics; and Electrical Engineering.
People who study naval architecture and marine engineering pick up a median income of $90,000, and their unemployment rate is just 1.6 percent.
The least valuable college majors include Drama And Theater Arts; Visual And Performing Arts; Composition And Rhetoric; Linguistics And Comparative Language And Literature; and Fine Arts.
People who study drama and theater arts pick up a median income of $35,500, and their unemployment rate is just 5.2 percent.
