As it turns out, Texas is the best state in America to start your own business, and Rhode Island is the worst, according to a new study. The top five states in America to start a business were Texas, Utah, Georgia, North Dakota, and Oklahoma. Florida, Arizona, California, Montana, and Colorado rounded up the top 10 best U.S. states to start a business, in 2019.
Comparing all 50 U.S. states in terms of average growth in the number of small businesses, office-space affordability, cost of living, labor costs, personal finance site WalletHub set out to find why states in America were more nurturing environments for small businesses.
The bottom five were Rhode Island, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Hawaii, and Connecticut. It’s true what they say– location is everything.
