Seven Canadian Institutions Make Top 200 In Global Universities Rankings, 2019

It’s no surprise that the University of Toronto is the top-ranked Canadian institution in the latest U. New rankings of universities around the world, finishing 20th. Canada has 37 Institutions on the list.

Seven made the top-200: The University of Toronto ranked 20th, the University of British Columbia placed 29th, McGill University placed 43rd, McMaster University placed 130th, the University of Montreal placed 136th, the University of Alberta placed 137th, and the University of Calgary placed 178th.

For comparison, the top 10 best universities in the world by the U.S. News and World Report, 2019 was made up mostly of universities in the U.S. with Harvard, MIT, and Stanford ranked the top three. Two institutions in the United Kingdom made the top 10: Oxford came fifth while Cambridge placed 7th. The overall Best Global Universities rankings encompass the top 1,250 institutions spread across 75 countries.

Prof. Dr. Amarendra Bhushan Dhiraj is a publishing executive and economist who is the CEO and editor-in-chief of The CEOWORLD magazine, one of the world’s most influential and recognized global news publications. Additionally, he serves as the chair of the advisory board for the CEOWORLD magazine. He received his Ph.D. in Finance and Banking from the European Global School, Paris, France.
