A List Of Best Global Universities For 2019 By US News

Harvard University

With an impressive Global Score of 100, Harvard University ranked first in the world in an annual U.S. News report of world’s top 1,250 universities. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) came in second with a Global Score of 97.6. In third, Stanford University had a Global Score of 93.8.

While the rankings are spread across 75 nations, many nations have multiple institutions in the report. For example, the United States has eight schools in the top ten alone. In addition to the overall global list, the publication also broke out rankings by country.

The United States saw the highest number of universities on the list with 227, followed by China (130 universities), the United Kingdom (78 universities), Japan (67 universities), and Germany (62 universities).
