Sacyr Proposes Pedro Sigüenza as New CEO to Drive Strategic Growth

Sacyr’s executive team has unanimously decided to propose Pedro Sigüenza as the company’s next CEO. This recommendation will be presented at the Annual General Meeting, expected to take place in June. If approved, his appointment by the Board of Directors will take effect immediately.

Currently serving as CEO of Sacyr Concesiones, Sigüenza will be responsible for overseeing the company’s management and business strategy. Meanwhile, Chair Manuel Manrique Cecilia will retain oversight of corporate, financial, and strategic matters.

With this leadership transition, Sacyr aims to enhance its corporate governance while advancing its 2024-2027 Strategic Plan and long-term vision for 2033. The company’s key objectives include achieving profitable growth and solidifying its position as a global leader in transport, social, and water infrastructure development.

Among the strategic challenges for this period is the launch of Voreantis, Sacyr Group’s new investment vehicle designed to consolidate the company’s brownfield assets. Additionally, the company intends to strengthen its P3 initiatives in English-speaking markets and further expand operations within its Water business unit.

Born in Madrid in 1966, Sigüenza brings over two decades of experience at Sacyr, having held leadership roles across multiple divisions. Since February 2024, he has served as CEO of Sacyr Concesiones, with previous positions including CEO of Sacyr Engineering and Infrastructure, Sacyr Industrial, and Valoriza Servicios Medioambientales.

A graduate in Mining Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and École Supérieure des Mines de Nancy in France, Sigüenza began his professional journey at Bouygues and Dragados before joining Sacyr.
