DB Schenker Names Ralf Többe as CEO for Germany/Switzerland Region
DB Schenker has announced that Ralf Többe, the current Executive Vice President for Land Transport in the Germany/Switzerland region, will assume the role of CEO for the same region, effective 1 April 2025. Többe will replace Roland Dressler, who has chosen not to renew his contract in order to focus on his personal life after dedicating more than three decades to the company.
Having led the land transport division in the Germany/Switzerland region since 2021, Többe brings extensive experience in the transport and logistics sector. Before joining DB Schenker, he held leadership positions at Stinnes AG, Kühne + Nagel, and General Logistics Systems (GLS) Germany. Widely regarded as a seasoned industry professional, he is expected to continue fostering growth and operational excellence in the region.
A DB Schenker spokesperson confirmed the appointment, originally reported by Verkehrsrundschau, and noted that Többe will continue overseeing land transport operations alongside his new CEO responsibilities.
Dressler, who has served as CEO since 2022, will step down after a 32-year tenure at DB Schenker, during which he held multiple leadership roles, particularly in air freight operations.
This leadership change comes as DB Schenker transitions to new ownership. On 13 September 2024, DSV signed an agreement to acquire the company from Deutsche Bahn, a move that is expected to influence DB Schenker’s strategic trajectory.
Többe’s appointment is viewed as a step toward maintaining the region’s dedication to providing high-quality services in one of Europe’s most crucial logistics markets.
