Tesla’s Market Capitalization Soars to $1.5 Trillion as Musk’s Empire Expands
Tesla’s market capitalization has soared to a record-breaking $1.5 trillion, driven by a surge in its stock price. This landmark achievement has significantly boosted CEO Elon Musk’s net worth, which now stands at $486 billion. Analysts attribute Tesla’s momentum to advancements in artificial intelligence and autonomous driving technologies, with Wedbush’s Dan Ives setting a price target of $515. He also outlined a “bull case” scenario where the stock could hit $650, potentially elevating Tesla’s valuation to $2.1 trillion. Despite this optimism, some experts have urged caution, recommending investors consider buying during market corrections due to concerns over the company’s current valuation.
SpaceX, another of Musk’s ventures, has reached a valuation of $350 billion, securing its position as the most valuable startup globally. This milestone was achieved as investor interest surged following the U.S. presidential elections, contributing to Tesla’s stock climbing by over 77% in value. Beyond Tesla and SpaceX, Musk’s other projects, including the artificial intelligence firm xAI, have seen notable growth. According to Reuters, xAI expanded its investor base after the Oman Investment Authority acquired a stake in the company.
Legal and regulatory hurdles, however, continue to present challenges. A Delaware court recently ruled against Musk’s $101 billion compensation package, deeming it unfair to Tesla shareholders. The company plans to appeal this decision. Meanwhile, reports from The New York Post reveal that the SEC has proposed a settlement related to Musk’s acquisition of Twitter, now rebranded as X, further highlighting concerns about regulatory compliance.
Despite these obstacles, Tesla remains a leader in electric vehicles and artificial intelligence, with promising opportunities for future growth tied to evolving government policies. Musk’s diverse ventures underscore his ambitious vision but also the complexities of navigating legal and market pressures.
