Lindsay Lohan Reflects on Career, Disney Memories, and a Legendary Comeback
As part of her promotional tour for the upcoming Netflix holiday film Our Little Secret, Lindsay Lohan appeared on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live. During the interview, she garnered significant applause by sharing a playful anecdote involving former Disney CEO Michael Eisner at the world premiere of The Parent Trap in 1998, when she was only 12 years old.
In The Parent Trap, Lohan famously took on the dual roles of twins Hallie “Hal” James Parker and Annie “Ann” James Parker. At the premiere, Eisner approached her and asked where her twin was, leaving it unclear whether he was joking or genuinely unaware that Lohan had portrayed both characters. Lohan, despite her young age, quickly responded by quipping that Disney should have paid her double since she didn’t actually have a twin.
Reflecting on the experience, Lohan noted that it was remarkable she came up with such a response at the time, considering how young she was. The Parent Trap marked Lohan’s first and only audition, and it launched her into stardom—a role she remains fond of, especially if original director and co-writer Nancy Meyers were ever to be involved in a sequel or reboot. Lohan expressed that she would be open to reprising her role if Meyers was on board.
Although there are no plans for a Parent Trap revival, Lohan is returning to familiar Disney territory. She recently reunited with Jamie Lee Curtis to film the sequel to Freaky Friday, titled Freakier Friday. The movie, which was shot over the summer, brought Lohan back to Disney’s iconic studio lot—a place she associates with several pivotal moments in her career. She described the experience as nostalgic, noting that being on the Disney lot evoked memories not only of Freaky Friday but also of other significant projects like The Parent Trap, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, and Herbie.
Lohan said that her return to the Disney lot made her feel like a child again, recounting how much those early projects meant to her. She expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to revisit the place that held so many formative memories, admitting that the experience was emotional and truly special.
