Fleet Management Limited Welcomes New CEO as Leadership Transition Unfolds

Businessman

Fleet Management Limited, a subsidiary of The Caravel Group Limited, has announced that Captain Rajalingam (‘Raja’) Subramaniam will take on the role of Chief Executive Officer starting in early 2025. Captain Subramaniam is set to join the company on October 21, 2024, in the capacity of “CEO Elect” before officially stepping into the position on January 1, 2025. He will report directly to Dr. Harry S. Banga, Chairman and CEO of The Caravel Group.

Captain Subramaniam will be succeeding Dr. Kishore Rajvanshy, who has served as Managing Director since the founding of Fleet Management Limited three decades ago. Under Dr. Rajvanshy’s leadership, the company has grown to become the world’s second-largest third-party ship management firm. Upon stepping down, Dr. Rajvanshy will assume the title of “Managing Director Emeritus” and continue as a “Non-Executive Director,” providing senior advisory support.

Captain Subramaniam brings extensive maritime experience, blending his expertise as a Master Mariner with a deep understanding of business. In his previous role as President & Group CEO of the MISC Group, he bolstered the company’s prominence in the global shipping and offshore sectors. He navigated the firm through various challenges, including economic fluctuations and environmental regulatory changes, and has been recognized for fostering growth, innovation, and excellence—qualities he now brings to Fleet Management Limited.

In discussing the appointment, Dr. Harry S. Banga noted that Captain Subramaniam’s proven leadership and vision made him the perfect candidate to guide Fleet Management Limited into its next phase of growth. He expressed confidence that Captain Subramaniam’s strategic insights would further enhance the company’s commitment to excellence in the maritime industry.

Looking back on his 30-year tenure, Dr. Kishore Rajvanshy expressed deep gratitude for the support of the company’s employees and partners and voiced optimism about the future under Captain Subramaniam’s leadership. He expressed his anticipation for the company’s continued success as it builds on its established legacy of safety and quality.

Captain Subramaniam, reflecting on his new role, shared that he felt honored to take on the responsibility of leading such a dedicated and accomplished team. He also extended his appreciation to the founding family for their support in advancing his vision for the maritime industry.
