AM Best is set to hold its annual MENA insurance market briefing on November 20, 2024, at the Kempinski Central Avenue in Dubai. This event will bring together senior AM Best analysts and prominent executives from the (re)insurance sector to discuss the latest trends and developments shaping the insurance markets in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). The briefing will focus on key market shifts and their anticipated effects in the near future.
A notable highlight of the program is a panel featuring top executives from leading insurance companies in the United Arab Emirates. Panelists include Abdellatif Abuqurah, CEO of Dubai Insurance; Jason Light, CEO of Emirates Insurance; Charalampos Mylonas (Haris), CEO of Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company (ADNIC); and Dr. Ali Abdul Zahra, CEO of National General Insurance (NGI). These industry leaders will offer insights into the current landscape of the UAE insurance market.
In addition, Shivash Bhagaloo, managing partner of Lux Actuaries & Consultants, will present his analysis on the implementation of IFRS 17 in the MENA region during a dedicated session. Other key discussions will address the state of both global and MENA reinsurance markets, as well as the insurance implications of the significant floods that impacted the United Arab Emirates in April 2024.
The event will take place in the Diamond Ballroom at the Kempinski hotel, beginning with registration at 9:00 a.m. GST, followed by opening remarks at 9:30 a.m. The briefing will conclude with a networking lunch, providing an opportunity for industry professionals to connect and exchange ideas.
