DaSilva Steps into Global Role at TTC Tour Brands

Melissa DaSilva, who previously held the position of President for TTC’s North American operations, has now been appointed as Interim CEO for TTC Tour Brands on a global scale. This change follows the announcement that Gavin Tollman, the long-standing CEO, will step down as Apollo, a US private equity firm, finalizes its acquisition of The Travel Corporation (TTC). The deal, first disclosed in July, is anticipated to close later this year.

With over three decades of experience in the travel sector, DaSilva is now responsible for managing TTC Tour Brands’ six subsidiaries, including well-known names like Trafalgar, Insight Vacations, and Contiki. While DaSilva takes on this new challenge, Tollman is expected to provide support during the transition period. Additionally, she will be involved in selecting her successor for the North American presidency.

Tollman remarked that DaSilva’s sharp business instincts and leadership capabilities have been evident throughout her tenure, emphasizing that her in-depth knowledge of TTC’s diverse brands makes her well-suited to guide the company through this significant phase.

DaSilva expressed her enthusiasm for the role, acknowledging the importance of this moment in the company’s history and emphasizing the potential of both the brands and the teams behind them. She highlighted the aim of ensuring a smooth leadership transition while laying the groundwork for sustained growth and success.

The finalization of Apollo’s acquisition of TTC is expected by the end of the calendar year, pending necessary approvals.
