Goldman Sachs Appoints New CEO for Singapore Office as Regional Role Expands
Goldman Sachs has named Rob Drake-Brockman as the new CEO of its Singapore office, underscoring the growing importance of the city-state to the Wall Street firm. In addition to his new role, Drake-Brockman will continue to serve as head of equities distribution and execution for the Asia-Pacific region. He succeeds James Ellery, who is relocating to London, according to a company statement.
With over 1,300 employees, Goldman Sachs’ Singapore office is its largest in the region after Hong Kong, serving as a key hub for commodities trading. The firm’s primary business in Singapore is in markets, though it has been expanding its asset and wealth management divisions, as well as utilizing the city as a technology engineering hub.
Drake-Brockman, a partner at the firm, relocated to Singapore in 2022. Prior to that, he served as co-head of prime brokerage for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
