Cultural Misalignments Lead to Xavier Garijo’s Departure after 6 Months at Brambles Americas

Brambles, a prominent logistics company, has revealed that Xavier Garijo, CEO of its subsidiary CHEP Americas, will depart the organization after a brief six-month tenure due to cultural misalignments. Garijo took the helm at CHEP Americas in January, a newly established role where he managed Brambles’ operations across the Americas. This position unified the previously distinct CHEP North America and CHEP Latin America divisions.

In the wake of Garijo’s departure, Brambles will revert to its previous organizational structure. David Cuenca, the current CEO of CHEP Europe, will step in as CEO of CHEP North America, effective immediately. Paola Floris will maintain her leadership of the CHEP Latin America division, now reporting directly to Brambles CEO Graham Chipchase. Brambles has indicated that a decision regarding the leadership of CHEP Europe will be disclosed within the next two weeks.

The company acknowledged Garijo’s contributions, noting that while his skills and energy were valued, the cultural differences necessitated a change in leadership. David Cuenca expressed enthusiasm about leading CHEP North America, emphasizing a commitment to driving growth and delivering exceptional service and operational excellence.
