Canada Jetlines is in Search of a New CEO as Eddy Doyle Retires

Canada Jetlines has announced the impending retirement of CEO Eddy Doyle, effective June 30, 2024, after his tenure since 2021. The airline has begun the process of finding a new CEO. During the interim period, Brigitte Goersch, the current Chair of the Board, will step in as CEO.

Eddy Doyle has played a crucial role in navigating the airline through its licensing, start-up phase, and fleet expansion. His departure follows a period of contemplation about retirement, now deemed timely as the company has secured significant ACMI contracts, ensuring the operation of five aircraft in the coming months.

Doyle’s resignation is part of a broader wave of executive departures, including Chief Operating Officer Brad Warren in April, Head of Commercial Charles McKee in March, and Board Member Rossen Dimitrov in February. Since January, the share price of Canada Jetlines has dropped by more than 57%.

Canada Jetlines, headquartered in Mississauga, operates under the brand name Jetlines and offers scheduled and charter flights across the Americas and the Caribbean. The airline launched its first flight on September 22, 2022, and currently flies four A320-200 aircraft. In February, the company completed a $13.5 million share offering and introduced Jetlines Vacations, which combines all-inclusive packages with its flights.
